If this statement sounds like you, you will be pleased to hear that Smartech are the first company in Australia to meet the stringent Australian Standards (AS 2047 “Mandatory minimum specification by the Building Code Australia for windows and doors” and AS 4284 “Testing of building facades”) testing requirements for its
tilt counterweight window system.
It is really important to us to design and manufacture the highest quality doors, walls and windows and this product has certainly proven that style, quality and safety do not need to be compromised. We build each and every one of our doors and windows with safety and durability in mind.
The test results are available for download from our
trade portal.
The following
tests were undertaken to verify product performance claims:
- AS 4420.2 Deflection Test – positive and negative pressures are applied to the window to test the maximum deflection under wind load.
- AS 4420.3 Operating Force Test – to verify that an opening sash is capable of opening and closing without undue effort.
- AS 4420.4 Air Infiltration Test – the air leakage of a window is tested to ensure energy and acoustic efficiency.
- AS 4420.5 Water Penetration Resistance Test – this tests to ensure that there are no water leaks through the window into the building at the required pressure.
- AS 4420.6 Ultimate Strength Test – negative and positive pressures are applied to the window to ensure it does not fail at the required wind pressure.
But not only do we comply with the Australian Standards,
sustainability has also always been a topic that has been important to us considering the current climate change crisis. We therefore now also offer
double-glazing with thermal break as an option for increased energy efficiency and reduced external noise for our glazed products. You can read more about our energy efficient products
