Smartech is thrilled to have contributed to the recent development of Ivanhoe Grammar School’s Sports & Aquatic Centre. With students on their marks and ready to go, the school proudly unveiled its new multi-level complex that will facilitate a multitude of athletic activities within its walls.

Pulling out all the stops, the construction of a brand-new sports hub required a gargantuan facility to house the many different training spaces for the school’s students. Encompassing rooftop netball and tennis courts, NBA standard basketball courts, volleyball and badminton courts, weights rooms, table tennis rooms, classrooms, staff offices, a kiosk, and finally, a 50-meter, 8 lanes wide accredited Olympic sized swimming pool, the dedication to the project is certainly seen in its wide array of premium facilities.

True to Ivanhoe Grammar School’s commitment to creating a quality environment for its staff and students, building and finish choices were made that delivered the highest standard for the Sports & Aquatic Centre. Known for our innovative wall and door solutions, Smartech was engaged to supply nine Flush-Finish Tilt Walls for the Upper and Lower Courts within the main building.

The choice to line the courts with our flush-finish Tilt Walls provides a stunning, concealed look when closed, thanks to brilliantly matching timber cladding and our seamless Flush Finish that disappears into the surrounding walls. The Tilt Walls open smoothly with our easily operated motorisation, revealing spacious storage nooks hidden behind the façade. The creation of cavities behind the wall to hold equipment maintains a clean, tidy appearance, ensuring the space is not only functional but aesthetically pleasing too.

Smartech’s contribution to Ivanhoe Grammar School’s Sports & Aquatic Centre is a proud one, with the complex catering to the needs of students by providing a sensational new space to nurture the talents of its rising athletes.

Equally as excited is Year 8 student, Eliza, “It covers so many sports, so hopefully, we might discover some new sports stars! I’m sure it will lift everybody’s standards!”
