Victorian home transformation

This clever transformation of a small Victorian weatherboard home demonstrates the endless customised design solutions the team at Smartech Door Systems can create.

The idea behind the renovation was to convert the downstairs small bedroom into a single car garage, thus meeting the owner’s objective of adding a single car garage to their home.

As an additional challenge of the project, Smartech worked with the owner to ensure the existing window would remain at the front of the house. Therefore, this enabled the front building façade to remain completely unchanged, hence maintaining the historic appearance of this Victorian home.

A Smartech Folding Garage Door with weatherboards featuring the original window was designed, manufactured and installed, which lead to this clever architectural solution:  When the garage door is closed, the original look of the front façade is unchanged and preserved. When the garage door is opened, it provides easy access to a single-car garage. You would only know that a front part of the house is a Folding Garage Door when it is left open.
